Lesson 2: How to Connect MS Database File to Visual Basic .Net



This next lesson will show you how to connect your database file created on MS Access to Visual Basic .Net 

This method Requires the following installed on you PC:

  • Visual Basic 2010 or later versions
  • Microsoft .NET Framework
  • Microsoft Access

The following step-by-step example describes how to create a connection to the Access database by using the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Server Explorer. The following example also describes how to use the OleDbDataAdapter class to retrieve data from the database and to insert data into a DataSet object. This example also describes how to create new rows, how to add these rows to the table, how to modify the data in the rows, and how to remove rows from the table in the Access database.

Lesson 1 : How to Make Database on MS Access

Before we begin creating our first database program, we need first to create a database to be use to store our records. 

According to Wikipedia : A database is an organized collection of data. The data are typically organized to model relevant aspects of reality in a way that supports processes requiring this information. For example, modeling the availability of rooms in hotels in a way that supports finding a hotel with vacancies.
From this video tutorial you will learn the basic of creating your first database file. JUST FOLLOW my steps on the video..


Note: You can put many tables you want, it will depend on the system/program you want to create, this database I made is only for information system for parents and their child. The title itself represents that the "information system" is kind of a database program.
